Job Description Job Description Personal Care Aid (PCA) – Butterfly Home Care – Virginia About the Role Butterfly Home Care – Virginia is seeking a highly motivated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our compassionate team. As a PCA, you will provide essential support and care to individuals who need assistance with daily living activities. Your primary goal is to help our clients maintain independence and improve their quality of life while ensuring their safety and comfort. In this role, you will work closely with patients, their families, and healthcare staff to provide personalized care in the comfort of the client’s home. Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent - Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Compassionate and patient approach to client care Preferred Qualifications - Experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home care setting - CPR certification - Valid PCA certification - Bilingual abilities a plus Responsibilities - Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility - Provide meal preparation and assistance with feeding as needed - Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors - Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and their families - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment - Follow care plans and adhere to health, safety, and privacy regulations Skills & Attributes As a PCA, you will use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families. Physical strength and stamina will allow you to assist clients safely with daily living activities. Attention to detail is essential for monitoring and reporting changes in clients’ health. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively, combined with compassion, empathy, and patience, will ensure clients receive the highest quality care and support. Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is highly valued in this role.
