Job Description:
OverviewEntry-Level Electrical / Electronics engineer to support
the Joint Spectrum Center projects. Applies fundamental concepts,
processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
Performs work that requires practical experience and training. Work
is performed under supervision. ResponsibilitiesMAJOR JOB
ACTIVITIES: Please list by order of priority and, if possible,
provide the percentage of time spent on the activity all should
equal 100%. Performs spectrum and electronics engineering efforts
and supervises engineering staff participating in such efforts.
Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for
problem definition, analysis, requirement development and
implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline
required to meet technical requirements. Makes recommendations and
advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or
support efforts. Performs risk assessments and analysis employing
modeling and simulation techniques. Participants in EMC and EME
Measurement activities.MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computers, printers, scanners, telephone and general office type
equipment.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Working environment is a
climate-controlled facility. Outdoor temperatures may exceed
temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:Work may
require light lifting, stooping, climbing, standing, prolonged
sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist
for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be a US citizen.Active
Secret ClearanceEducation/Certifications: Bachelor of Science
Degree in electrical/electronic/computer engineering from an
accredited university.Experience:GENERAL:Experience in the areas of
Operational spectrum dependent systems, National Administrative
Spectrum Management or digital signal processing; the operation and
spectrum compatibility evaluation of communications, combat
systems, electronic warfare systems, and navigation aids through
preparation of technical documents, test plans/reports, analytical
evaluation of systems' RF compatibility, and development of
actionable EMC techniques; writing and updating spectrum
coordination documentation for programmatic requirements and
operational publications; or conducting spectrum EMI/EMC testing
and evaluations, performing engineering analyses to predict and
define spectrum EMI problems, defining/designing corrective
measures, and knowledge of operational implementation of systems is
