Job title: Compensation Analyst I
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Bowie, MD
The client is seeking a temporary mid-level Compensation Analyst to
assist the Compensation team with writing job descriptions and
conducting market pricing. This role will be primarily responsible
for developing and revising job descriptions in alignment with the
established job architecture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consults with Human Resources Business Partners and internal
stakeholders to develop accurate job descriptions; ensures
consensus on job descriptions through all applicable business
Conducts market pricing to ensure appropriate placement of roles
within the salary structure.
Benchmarks compensation practices to external market and provide
recommendations to ensure competitiveness.
Conducts analysis of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and incentives
in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and
legal compliance of the organization's pay practices.
Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws by monitoring
and responding to compliance related needs such as review of pay
incentives to assure adherence to DOL laws and regulations,
exemption status in accordance with FLSA.
Researches and interprets compensation laws and applicable
regulations and provides recommendations accordingly.
Provides guidance and direction to Business Leadership on complex
compensation issues such as salary treatments, job leveling, salary
planning activities, internal and external equity studies and job
Counsels, communicates, and educates managers and staff on
compensation policies and procedures.
Analyzes and provides recommendations to various system generated
reports to review internal equity, similarly situated
Performs complex mathematical computations and analysis as
required; review and audit data for accuracy and ensure
confidentiality of information as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum four (4) years of related experience.
Experience writing/revising job descriptions required; experience
with job description software preferred.
Possess excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
MarketPay experience preferred.
Strong working knowledge of legal perspectives on wages, pay equity
In depth knowledge of EEO, DOL, FLSA, quantitative and qualitative
Ability to generate and analyze reports and spreadsheets i.e.
identify and correct errors, evaluate and resolve compliance
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Chart
creation and graphs) and proficient Word and Power Point
