REQ RQ57992 Travel Required 10-25 Requisition Type Regular GDIT is standing up a cross functional software development team to development software for the United States Navy (Navy) in the DC metro area. This position is not yet funded. The Software Architect System Manager is a leader within this team responsible for assisting the Government in sustaining a military Command and Control systems (C2) architecture as it evolves to ensure compatibility with fielded systems and system variants. The Software Architect System Manager provides leadership for a GDIT software development team in a Government-Owned-Contractor-Operated (GOCO) DevSecOps operational environment. Required experience includes the exercising of leadership for teams using end-to-end software development, implementing cybersecurity throughout development, defining software development plans, software coding, software component testing, and documenting software trouble reports. The ideal candidate will have experience Working in a GOCO DevSecOps environment Working knowledge of UML design and use of model visualization tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, Rhapsody) Understand C4 model implementation for visualizing software architecture and DoD Architecture Framework Experience in system requirements decomposition and product backlog management Strong understanding of microservices architecture patterns, software containers and software refactoring strategies For this contract the Software Architect System Manager's duties and responsibilities include Assisting the Government in developing the processesprocedures required to sustain an evolving software architecture Assisting the Government in developing the Government Software Architecture and Refactoring Plan. Identifying issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement Support system engineering interchange meetings (SEIM) between the Government, other Software Architect System Managers, and end users. The SEIM shall include an In-Process Review (IPR) for a combined review of combat system requirements and project system requirements. Managing employees engaged in the design and development of computer software applications directly, and through subordinate supervisors,. Ensuring that proper records and other documentation are maintained Leading the research and development of new software products and applications on the leading edge of established knowledge and standards Conceiving, designing, prototyping, and testing new methods, algorithms, and models Defining architecture requirements and performance standards to meet or exceed management and customer specifications Identifying and directing resolution of complex hardwaresoftware interface issues Advising hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and inputoutput requirements Preparing reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management andor customer personnel Serving as the primary customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis Providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers, and may have supervisory responsibilities Serving as a technical team or task leader Provide, as needed, expertise to multiple projects and tasks Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned Participating in special projects as required We are GDIT.
