Job Description:
To provide comprehensive technical leadership in translating
Navy Federal strategies into effective IT and business capabilities
through the planning, design, implementation, and integration of IT
systems and services. Define and drive business transformation
efforts by minimizing architectural and operational risk, and by
providing proven technical solutions to business challenges. Work
is performed under limited supervision. Responsibilities • Develop
target solutions ensuring the integration points of end-user
technology services and other related services are consistent,
scalable, and flexible. Guide developers and assist with all SDLC
phases • Plan and develop robust and secure technical solutions
that align with Navy Federal strategies • Collaborate on
architecture reviews to assess the integrity and quality of
proposed technical solutions • Identify and provide recommendations
for the acceptance or mitigation of any issues and risks associated
with requirements, proposed solutions, designs, implementation
plans and timelines • Provide forward-thinking technical expertise
and thought leadership in current and emerging technologies,
development practices, market trends and best practices •
Anticipate and plan for internal and/or external business
challenges (e.g., Regulatory, Compliance, etc.), with the ability
to recommend process, product, or service enhancements • Build and
maintain relationships with team members, management, key
stakeholders and/or external contacts (e.g., vendors, etc.) •
Provide overall technical leadership to the Security, Channels, and
Investment initiatives, which are transformational in technology,
crosses more than one line of business, and includes multiple
Stakeholders within NFCU together with software vendors • Perform
other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in
Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or the
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience •
Advanced hands-on experience of technical project implementations
preferably with financial institutions security and investments •
Previous hands-on experience as a software developer. Proven
experience in software development in modern languages (Java, C#,
Python, etc.) • Advanced hands-on experience technical experience
in delivering large technical products and services in the Cloud
environments • Advanced hands-on experience serving in the role of
as a Lead Engineer/Software Architect supporting various technical
and functional domains across medium to large-scale enterprises to
achieve strategic and organizational goals • Strong knowledge of
security concepts (security protocols, SSO, etc.) • Knowledge of
integration patterns • Experience in API design and management and
managing with knowledge in payments requirements • Advanced
hands-on experience in utilizing various development and operations
framework methodologies including Systems Development Life Cycle
(SDLC) and/or various flavors of Agile (SAFe, etc.) • Advanced
experience in communicating technical concepts and practices
effectively at all levels, including non-technical audiences,
adjusting as needed to a target audience • Significant experience
in translating business needs and requirements into comprehensive,
useful, and clear architecture designs and artifacts • Significant
experience in developing business and/or technical architecture
diagrams • Significant experience in facilitating review and
validation of designs by technical and non-technical audiences •
Significant experience in interpreting and translating architecture
designs into IT solutions to achieve specific business outcomes •
Advanced verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications • Master’s degree in information technology,
Computer Science, or related fields • Experience and knowledge of
the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC Compliance •
Experience and knowledge of the Investment and Compensation •
Understanding of mainframe and core financial systems • Skilled in
Databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2 etc.) • Certification in Microsoft
Azure, AWS, PEGA, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), etc. • Working
knowledge of banking and financial industry standards and practices
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal functions, philosophy,
operations, and organizational objectives Hours: Monday - Friday,
8:00AM - 4:30PM
