Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the provision of
comprehensive, evidence-based mental health services in Washington,
DC. We are committed to fostering community awareness, eliminating
systemic barriers, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care
to individuals navigating housing challenges. The Residential Aide
provides daily on-site support focused on parenting education,
child well-being, and family strengthening. The Residential Aide
will ensure that the house rules and operational procedures are
followed. They facilitate group sessions, support school
engagement, and model positive parenting practices. These staff
often serve as the first point of contact during non-clinical
crises and play a critical role in maintaining a safe, supportive
living environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitors
the residents, units, and grounds at all times to ensure the
security and safety of each resident Enforces shelter policies and
follows staff policies and procedures Assists residents with
questions and helps to resolve any issue as they may arise Adheres
to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines; policies and
procedures; and mission and values of the organization Reports any
immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or
maintenance personnel May work evenings, weekends and holidays as
needed Responsible for resident safety Prevent disruptions, ensure
compliance, and maintain a stable living environment Build trust
with families by maintaining continuity of care for families during
critical stabilization periods. Rapid problem-solving
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s
degree in psychology, human services or equivalent preferred. 1-3
years professional experience working in a non-profit or
residential setting, behavioral health or housing program. A sound
understanding of mental health, housing requirements, and
behavioral health programs Experience working directly with people
in a service-oriented field such as property management, hotel
operations, or apartment leasing is beneficial. Ability to manage
priorities and workflow to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, highly
demanding environment. Capable of ensuring program stability,
regulatory compliance, and high performance outcomes. Good judgment
and the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Bilingual
