Job Opportunity: Chief of Gastroenterology in Atlantic City, NJ Join southeastern New Jersey's largest health system, recognized with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Job Responsibilities: Design and lead a cutting-edge GI program aligned with AtlantiCare s strategic goals. Establish a dynamic academic GI division focused on research, education, and advanced clinical care. Develop and enhance advanced GI services including complex endoscopic procedures and comprehensive outpatient care. Recruit, train, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of GI hospitalists, faculty, and support staff. Provide expert consultation and management of complex GI cases as a hands-on clinical leader. Facilitate collaboration across specialties, particularly in cancer care with strategic partners. Manage robust referral volumes and ensure consistent endoscopic scheduling from day one. Mentor and foster workforce development through training and culture-building initiatives. Enhance community engagement to reduce healthcare disparities in underserved populations. Ensure compliance with necessary certifications upon hire. Shape the future of GI care in Atlantic, Ocean, and Cape May Counties. Qualifications: Board Certification in Gastroenterology (REQUIRED). Active and unrestricted New Jersey state medical license or willingness to obtain. Minimum of five years of experience as a practicing gastroenterologist (new graduates will not be considered). History of medical leadership or experience in program development is preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to foster teamwork. License and Certification Requirements: Board Certification in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED. Active New Jersey medical license - REQUIRED. Valid BLS certification - REQUIRED. Valid ACLS certification - REQUIRED. DEA registration - REQUIRED. Controlled Substance Registration (CSR/CDS) - REQUIRED. Compliance with COVID and Flu vaccination mandates.
