Inovalon's Insights business unit is seeking a Senior Director, Commercial Analytics to join its Data Solutions group. The group works with life sciences companies and other healthcare sectors to apply Inovalon's real-world data products, technologies, and analytics services to drive business success. This position will lead the continued growth of Inovalon's data-driven offerings into the life sciences commercial analytics sector. Powered by the nation's largest primary source healthcare dataset, this will include the ideation and delivery of Inovalon's commercial analytics offerings, working in close collaboration with data science and product teams. It will also focus on future growth of the team from a personnel and skillset perspective.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize deep knowledge of healthcare data, product development, and life sciences commercial strategy to lead expansion of commercial analytics offerings (i.e., subscription-based products and custom analytics) into existing and new customers with an emphasis on life sciences companies (e.g., biopharma, device, diagnostics);
  • Lead preparation of proposals, statements of work, and presentations;
  • Lead delivery of customer engagements, working closely with cross-functional teams (data science, project management, product/technology);
  • Partner with product and technology teams to launch subscription-based commercial analytics products;
  • Serve as a principal life sciences commercial analytics subject matter expert within the team and across Inovalon;
  • Take a leadership role in generation of business with new customers and expansion of business with existing customers by leveraging a network of personal contacts and working closely with Inovalon's sales and business development teams;
  • Use superior knowledge of large scale, real-world datasets and the US real-world data market to identify customer gaps and opportunities;
  • Drive team goal achievement around sales and revenue as it pertains to the commercial analytics segment;
  • Develop and execute commercial analytics growth and hiring plans in partnership with senior leadership; manage, coach, and mentor team;
  • Serve on Insights business unit Delivery Leadership Team;
  • Represent Inovalon in public forums, including speaking engagements, customer meetings, and conferences;

    • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
    • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
    • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the company.

      Job Requirements:

      • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within the healthcare industry is required, including prior experience in life sciences commercial analytics;
      • Minimum of 5 years' experience successfully leading teams to sales and revenue goal attainment;
      • Proven expertise in real-world data, especially open and closed claims datasets;
      • Proven experience in development of technology and subscription-based healthcare data products;
      • Proven experience with data visualization tools;
      • Proven experience in project management, including tracking budgets, adhering to timelines and customer engagement;
      • Outstanding problem-solving and analytic skills with the ability to apply knowledge outside of one's immediate functional area; and
      • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to executives within and outside of the company.


        • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a healthcare-related discipline, business administration, or other relevant area

          Physical Demands and Work Environment:

          • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
          • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
          • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
          • Travel for this position will be approximately 20%.
