The Royal Ballroom is seeking a professional to fill an essential role.If you are energetic, organized, detail-oriented, and have superior customer service and communication skills, you should consider joining our team as an Event Manager.The Event Manager is responsible for booking, coordinating, and monitoring the events at Boise Centre. Working with all client and group types, the Event Manager creates detailed Banquet Event Orders, designs floor plans, develops food and beverage orders, and works collaboratively with all departments to ensure that events are successful. Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, the Event Manager works collaboratively with all departments in The Royal Ballroomto ensure an unforgettable experience for clients and guests. GET A GLIMPSE OF ALL YOU WILL EXPERIENCE AS AN EVENT MANAGER: Serves as the facility representative for clients, subcontractors, and The Royal Ballroom departments Develops detailed and accurate plans and diagrams for each event and distributes them to each department Assists clients by conducting tours and hosts pre and post-conference meetings Creates Banquet Event Orders, prepares final invoicing, and maintains records Assists Contract Administrator in preparing The Royal BallroomUse Permit to clients Ensures the accuracy of all final invoices Communicates and presents The Royal Ballroom's facility policies and procedures Oversees the event to ensure policies and procedures are being followed Maintains client policy and procedure guide Assists the Marketing and Sales Department where needed Manages and confirms tentative events in the Ungerboeck booking system Provides input into menu planning, special menus, and tastings Participates in department, company, industry, and trade-related professional organizations and training Performs a variety of related tasks and duties as assignedRequirements: REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Associate degree in hospitality, related degree, or related experience A minimum of 2 years experience in event/industry or related work experience Experience in a large-volume venue facility is a bonus Experience with event planning software (Ex. Ungerboeck & Social Tables) Leadership skills and ability to direct and delegate tasks Advanced computer skills and ability to learn new software Possess high attention to detail Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Advanced communication skills and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to troubleshoot, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
