Reporting directly to the Vice President (Regional), the Regional Director will work with Development and Mission Outcomes Departments to identify, foster, and recognize vital community relationships to advance the mission of the Epilepsy Foundation. Affiliations include Epilepsy Centers and medical professionals, business leaders, individual and group volunteers, government representatives, and interns to help lead the core activities of the Epilepsy Foundation. The Regional Director is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and execution of strategic initiatives to meet the overall objectives of the Epilepsy Foundations mission delivery system. Consequently, the Regional Director will lead a team of six (6) assigned to a specific geographic footprint. A strong understanding of emerging technology and resources to enhance the productivity of the team is essential. The ability to assess data and adjust to market trends is required. A thorough understanding and implementation of organizational policies and procedures is required. Strong leadership, management, and communication skills are required to engage the community, corporate partners, committees, and boards. Building team spirit and comradery in a fast-paced non-profit environment is a priority.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as executive director in the designated territory 40%
  • Responsibility for the teams performance in revenue generation, volunteer recruitment, program delivery, community engagement, and overall organization support 30%
  • Management of regional staff which include regular meetings with team members to access goals and assure outcome metrics are on target, staff performance reviews, and the approval of staff expenses and timecards - 20%
  • Assist the VP, Regional as assigned. 10%

    Additional Duties And Responsibilities
    • Professionally and with the disposition of team unity, interact with EF national office staff as needed.
    • Possesses a strong understanding of the Epilepsy Foundations mission, programs, services, research, advocacy, and fundraising opportunities and can convey information in an engaging style, both verbal and written.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward both individual and organizational partnerships within an assigned territory that promote the mission of EF and support people with epilepsy.
    • Develops and supports engagement both in-person and virtual activities within assigned territory.
    • Prioritize the identification of highly qualified volunteers to lead and assist Mission Outcomes program initiatives and training.
    • Connects newly formed relationships with appropriate staff and/or leadership volunteers within the organization.
    • Assures community engagement data is sourced within the organizations CRM and other necessary software platforms to track and measure impact.
    • Based on data, the ability to make changes and bring the team along in a fast-paced transition when necessary.
    • Regular interaction, engagement, and development of local EF boards and committees,
    • Implements protocols and policies as needed.
    • Assurance all software platforms are being utilized toward maximum capacity.
    • Review of data management reports to assess trends and adjust as needed.
    • Assures community engagement data is sourced within the organizations CRM and other necessary software platforms to track and measure the impact.
    • Assist with other duties and special projects, as assigned.

      Education Requirements
      • Bachelors degree required with masters degree preferred

        Experience Requirements
        • Seven (7) years of demonstrated success leading high-performance teams in an evolving culture
        • Ability to think strategically that includes a strong understanding of outcomes-based goals and objectives based on data
        • Demonstrated ability to make decisions in difficult situations that are judicious and fiscally sound
        • Proficiency with MS Office and other data-based software platforms. Must also be comfortable learning new technical systems, as needed.
        • Experience with Adobe Professional and other graphics programs desirable

          Preferred Skills
          • Bilingual preferred (Spanish); at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood.

            • A high level of detail orientation and accuracy (checking your work for accuracy is especially important).
            • Ability to prioritize work assignments and track multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to completion with each.
            • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on assigned duties; a sense of ownership and urgency in completing assigned job duties is essential.
            • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
            • Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
            • Uses sound judgment and maintains strict confidentiality.
            • Ability to develop and maintain data reports for measuring impact.
            • Understanding of Government Relations and the public policy process

              Supervisory Responsibilities

              This position supervises and is directly responsible for the performance of:
              • Executive Directors
              • Engagement Coordinators

                  • This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 AM 5 PM eastern.
                  • The regional director operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses office equipment (currently working from home, under our current COVID operations policy and will continue until further notice).
                  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and will require staring at a computer screen and/or documents for extended periods of time, standing/moving around when filing for extended periods of time, some lifting (boxes, packages, office equipment) and moving tables/chairs to set up meeting spaces.
                  • Travel is not expected but may occasionally be required for events (or for essential office visits, while under the COVID operations policy).
                  • Work might be required on some evenings and weekends for events and/or selected programs.
                  • Telework privileges may be requested, in accordance with our standard telework policy. Satisfactory performance and excellent customer service must be maintained.
