Job Description:
This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program
delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable leaders across
the Department to make faster, better-informed decisions using
trusted data at scale. Leidos Digital Modernization sector is
seeking an experienced SME Cybersecurity Engineer to support the
delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and
analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations. In this
role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and
other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic
requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will
contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous
improvement—helping ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently,
aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained
success. This position offers the opportunity to work on a
high-visibility, enterprise program at the intersection of data,
analytics, and emerging AI technologies. Ideal candidates are

security outcomes. Primary Responsibilities: Implement and maintain
cybersecurity and information assurance capabilities aligned with
system accreditation requirements. Configure and manage Free and
Open Source Software (FOSS), Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), and
Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) security tools. Support the
organization’s cybersecurity posture, Risk Management Framework
(RMF) activities, and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
Develop and sustain secure development, deployment, and operational
practices for data pipelines and enterprise systems. Coordinate
with enterprise security teams to manage security incidents and
conduct vulnerability analysis. Enforce security policies and
architectures, and execute cybersecurity compliance activities,
including Continuity of Operations (COOP), backup and restoration,
and patch management. Prepare, maintain, and execute a System
Engineering Plan (SEP) for managing all systems architecture and
system engineering related aspects of the program. Conduct systems
engineering activities required to specify, build, and maintain
system engineering designs for the System. Design, prepare, and
document systems engineering and cybersecurity artifacts for the
System. Define, document, maintain, and promulgate APIs and
technical standards for using and interoperating within and outside
the System. Support the design, engineering, integration, and
continuously improvement the underlying infrastructure of the
System. Identify, prepare, track, secure, and integrate government,
commercial, and open-source tools and services into the System.
Support the design, architecture, engineering, and continuously
improvement all aspects of cybersecurity elements of the System.
Perform site reliability engineering to build and maintain a
reliable, scalable, and efficient System. Basic Qualifications:
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly. Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity,
or related technical discipline and 12–15 years of relevant
experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and 10–13 years of
relevant experience. At least one of the following foundational
qualification pathways consistent with DoD 8140 requirements:
Current DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification appropriate for
Advanced Cyber Defense Analyst roles (e.g., GCFA or GCIA ),
Offerings listed in the DoD 8140 Training Repository, Demonstrated
equivalent training and experience qualifying under DoD 8140
foundational qualification alternatives. Minimum of 12 years of
experience in cybersecurity engineering or related field.
Proficiency in configuring and managing FOSS, COTS, and GOTS
security tools. Experience in developing and sustaining secure
development, deployment, and operational practices. Strong
knowledge of NIST security controls, IdAM services, continuous
monitoring, cross-domain security services, and Zero Trust
compliance. Experience in managing security incidents, conducting
vulnerability analysis, and enforcing security policies. Experience
in preparing and maintaining cybersecurity artifacts and
Body-of-Evidence (BOE) required to support the DoD RMF process.
Preferred Qualifications: CISSP, CCSP, CASP, or equivalent advanced
cybersecurity certification. Experience implementing
enterprise-scale Zero Trust Architecture. Experience with automated
compliance, configuration management, and continuous monitoring
solutions. Experience supporting advanced threat detection,
security analytics, or SIEM/SOAR integration. Experience supporting
secure enterprise data, analytics, or AI platforms in multi-enclave
environments. Experience with cloud-based environments and
DevSecOps practices. Familiarity with AI/ML model serving and
integration. Experience in site reliability engineering and
defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level

Range: Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 The Leidos pay range for
this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of
compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending

job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as
well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable
