summary: The Product Development Electrical Engineering Technician
supports various phases of projects. Primarily supporting the build
and testing phase i.e. planning, assembly, and troubleshooting of
first time builds and low volume production orders. As a member of
the Product Development department the Electrical Technician will
be engaged in work related to design, fabrication, and testing of
ECUs and Chillers. Technicians collaborate with Engineering
personnel to successfully build new products that satisfy customer
requirements while determining the best assembly sequence to
support future production. Responsibilities Include: Hands on build
support of control and electrical panels. Wiring of ECUs, Chillers,
and other related products Support prototype builds electrically by
resolving design issues and ensuring accurate and complete
documentation is available. Support testing of components,
sub-assemblies and prototype systems Recommendation and continuous
improvements to electrical test fixtures and procedures Review of
work instructions and procedures for proper control panel assembly
wiring PLC programming/trouble shooting (experience with Phoenix
Contact hardware and PC WORX software a strong plus) Design
mounting and enclosure solutions to support electrical components
in mechanically driven systems. Assist in preparation of clear,
thorough work instructions and build documentation to support
prototype and production assembly teams. Collaborate with
purchasing, fabrication vendors, and internal teams to support
custom component procurement. Assist in develop 3D models and
assemblies in SolidWorks, with a focus on electrical panels and
wiring Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers,
and routings within our Epicor MRP system (training provided).
Review complex electrical schematic details Utilization of
information from vendor drawings, catalogs, technical manuals, etc.
Working with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and technicians
Adherence to ACT’s Quality Manual, safety and corporate policies,
standards of conduct, rules and procedures. The ideal candidate
will possess the following qualities: Initiative: Product
Development engineers don't have a daily agenda given to them and
are expected to take it upon themselves to work closely with
customers, vendors and ACT personnel to fulfill projects goals and
objectives. Technical knowledge: We are looking for a candidate who
has a strong academic engineering background, coupled with hands-on
skills and fabrication and testing capabilities. Teamwork skills:
As a member of the product development team, the ideal candidate
must have the ability to give and receive encouragement and
constructive criticism, communicate effectively, and work
cooperatively with team members to achieve common goals. Critical
thinking skills: The product development customer and projects vary
widely, and the strategies and design approaches that worked for
one program may be completely different for the next opportunity.

permanent residency strongly preferred due to ITAR requirements
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD,
Microsoft Project, MRP Systems, and PLC programming languages (PC
WORX or PLCnext preferred) 3 years of hands-on experience with
fabrication, troubleshooting, and testing of motor controllers,
complex electrical circuits, PLC systems or other relevant controls
system experience E.E.T or E.M.E.T Degree is preferable Strong
problem-solving ability and desire to iterate complicated solutions
Good verbal and written communication skills
