Our Corporate Accounting team is seeking a Director, Technical
Accounting to lead technical accounting reviews of complex
transactions, maintain the Company's accounting policies, and
assist in implementing new accounting standards. This position will
serve as an internal consultant on accounting matters with various
functions across the Company. This position will also assist in the
preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual financial filings
with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The
selected candidate should have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP,
an ability to research complex technical accounting topics, and
should be able to work independently and follow up on action
items.
This position operates within a hybrid work model, requiring
employees to be present in the Reston, VA office three (3) days per
week. The remaining two days may be worked remotely, allowing for a
balance between in-person collaboration and independent work from
home. On-site days are crucial for team meetings, client
interactions, and fostering a cohesive work culture. Remote days
offer flexibility and the opportunity for focused work without
interruptions. Candidates should be comfortable with this
arrangement and possess the ability to maintain high productivity
and communication standards in both office and remote settings. The
specific in-office days will be determined based on team needs and
company-wide coordination.
Responsibilities:
Manage technical accounting activities including evaluation and
implementation of new accounting standards, accounting for complex
or non-routine transactions, and providing accounting advice and
analysis to internal stakeholders on accounting matters and
accounting policies
Prepare technical memos documenting accounting treatment and
conclusions for complex transactions or for required routine
analyses
Keep abreast of US GAAP, and other regulatory and technical
guidance and regulations
Establish, document and manage the Company's accounting policies
ensuring they continue to be relevant as US GAAP guidance and the
business evolves
Maintain a knowledge base of current industry practices to ensure
best practices are monitored and considered
Facilitate training on various accounting topics as needed.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure that technical
accounting and accounting policy matters are resolved timely
Assist with the accounting for revenue recognition, goodwill,
intangibles, impairments, capitalized internally developed
software, purchase accounting, hedging, equity, debt, and leases,
including review of balance sheet reconciliations and variance
analyses
Assist with the accounting and reporting for acquisitions,
including due diligence, purchase accounting, and evaluation of
related reporting and disclosure requirements
Assist with the preparation, review and analysis of the statement
of cash flows, including coordination with finance for cash flow
forecasting
Assist with the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual
financial statements with the SEC
Assist with the monthly accounting close process including
preparation of monthly results, analysis and other reporting
materials to management team
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Administration
Minimum of 12 years' related accounting experience including a
minimum of seven (7) years' relevant technical accounting
experience with public companies
Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification (CPA license and a
masters in accounting, which is required to sit for the CPA
exam)
Proficient knowledge of GAAP, SEC and other accounting and
reporting standards
Desired:
Mix of prior Big 4 experience and federal government contracting
industry accounting experience strongly preferred.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final
salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal
Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates,
relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies,

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$107,800 - $237,000
